How toys have changed over time

In the next five weeks the children will be making inquiries into how toys have changed over time. These inquiries will be driven by the following teachers questions:

1. What is your favourite toy?
2. How do different toys move?
3. How are toys made?
4. What are the similarities/differences between toys?
5. Are toys different from how they were in the past?

In 1A we looked at the video below and it stimulated lots of questions that the children want to find out the answers to.

Gordon asked, "Is Lightning McQueen old or new?"
Ayumu asked, "Is Mickey Mouse an old toy?"
Aaron wondered, "Is Playdough old as well?"
Jason wants to ask his mum, "Did you have a teddy bear when you were little?"
Isabella wants to know, "Are rubber ducks old?"
Yuffy is going to ask his dad, "Did you have a Lightning McQueen when you were young?"
Anna wants to find out what hoops are made from.
Edward wonders, "Did children play with gun toys a long time ago?"
Sophie is going to ask her mum, "Are puzzles old?"
Kyle is going to ask his mum, "Did you fly a kite when you were young?"
Janice is going to ask her mum, "What toys did you play with when you were little?"
Leo will ask his family, "Did you have lots of toys?"
Sam will check with his dad if he played a lot with his friends on the street?"
Vinay wants to find out, "When my mum was young did my dad give her pocket money to buy toys with?".

  1. Janice's mom: I did not have many toys when I was a child, and my favourite toy was a doll for which I made a lot of pretty clothes :)
